Gaining Knowledge From Text

Gaining knowledge from text can occur when reading printed text or on-line text.  The process includes each of the following steps:

Previewing or Surveying The Text To Be Read

Asking Questions Before Reading

Paraphrasing (Putting the ideas in your own words)

Evaluating  (Asking yourself if you have understood what you have read).

Building Vocabulary
