Paraphrasing
Parphrasing means putting the ideas you have read into your own words.
Some example of paraphrasing can be found here. If you are paraphrasing in order to understand and remember what you have read and you are not turning in your paraphrases to an instructor, you don't have to worry about plagiarism.
