*As you write, be legible, use abbreviations (as a example, use e.g. instead of 'for example’, and omit small words altogether. Focus on writing down key words and supporting details.
*Before attending a lecture, check the syllabus to see what the content of the lecture will be. Read the relevant text (e.g., from the textbook) before attending class.
*Arrive a bit early to class so that you can sit in a good location. Sit near the front of the class and away from students who may be distracting.
