Campus Resources

Become familiar with the resources available to students on your campus and refer students to these resources as appropriate.  The following resources may be available:

*tutoring in specific content areas (e.g. STEM subjects, writing),

           *tutoring in learning strategies.

           *libraries and librarians.

           *disability services

           *basic needs (e.g. food, housing)

           *underrepresented groups

Discussion of these and other campus resources can be found here and here.

Services for students at Santa Rosa Junior College, Santa Rosa CA,  can be found here.

Tutoring can be advantageous for all students,  but especially for struggling students. The tutor can provide immediate corrective feedback and encourage and challenge the learner with materials that are neither too easy nor too difficult.

You can suggest that students engage in peer tutoring, hire a private or online tutor, or make an appointment to meet with a tutor at an on-campus tutoring center.  A list of tutoring services at Santa Rosa Junior College, Santa Rosa CA,  can be found here.
