A Compendium of
Learning and Teaching Strategies for College
Asking For Help
Part of being a self-directed learner involves asking for help when it is needed. This can include:
*Visiting the instructor during office hours.
*Enlisting the help of a tutor.
*Finding study partners and joining study groups.
*Utilizing on-campus resources. Check out your college's website to look for other on-campus resources. These can include, in addition to tutoring, campus centers for often marginalized groups, health centers, career centers, and librarians.

For students at Santa Rosa Community College, links to various online resources can be found here.
